moundmodel.com is a personal side project run by Kai Y. This page explains what data the site touches, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the site shows the same content to everyone, has no accounts, builds no personal profiles, and uses Google services for exactly two things — understanding traffic and funding the site with ads.

Hosting & server logs

The site is served from Amazon Web Services (S3 + CloudFront). Like nearly every web server, CloudFront writes standard access logs — IP address, requested page, timestamp, and browser user agent. They're used only to operate the site and understand aggregate traffic, and are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you opt in through the cookie banner (Google Consent Mode v2); if you decline, Google receives only cookieless, aggregate signals. You can also block Analytics entirely with the opt-out browser add-on linked below.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site shows ads through Google AdSense to cover its running costs. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to limit how often you see an ad and — where you've consented — to personalize the ads you see.

In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, advertising cookies default to off: unless you accept them in the cookie banner, ads are served non-personalized. You can also manage ad personalization for your Google account at any time via the links below.

Your choices

Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage, key “moundmodel-consent”) and applied on every visit. You can change it whenever you like:
